Frequently asked.
What makes Restore Naturals different?
Restore Naturals creates intentionally formulated cleaning products designed for people who are more selective about what they use in their homes. Our formulas are developed without phosphates, chlorine, or ammonia, and are made using carefully selected ingredients, including plant-derived surfactants. We focus on creating effective cleaning products while providing transparency into what's included in each formula.
Are your products suitable for people with sensitivities?
Our products are designed for people who are mindful of the ingredients they bring into their homes, including those who have experienced sensitivities to conventional cleaners. We avoid certain commonly used ingredients such as phosphates, chlorine, and ammonia, and focus on balanced formulations that perform effectively while being thoughtfully developed. As with any product, individual sensitivities can vary, and we always recommend reviewing ingredient lists and testing in a small area when trying something new.
What ingredients do you use?
We believe in full transparency. Our formulas include a combination of plant-derived surfactants and other carefully selected ingredients that support cleaning performance. You may see ingredients derived from sources such as soy, coconut, corn, and citrus, depending on the product. Every ingredient is listed so you can make informed decisions about what you bring into your home. You can find the full ingredient list for each product on its respective product page.
What ingredients do you avoid?
Our products are formulated without: Phosphates, Chlorine, Ammonia, Petroleum-based solvents, Optical brighteners. We also avoid ingredients that are commonly associated with harsher cleaning formulations.
Are your products disinfectants?
No — our products are not disinfectants. Cleaning and disinfecting serve different purposes. Cleaning removes dirt, grease, and many common contaminants from surfaces. Disinfectants are designed to kill specific microorganisms and typically require specific usage conditions and dwell times. For everyday use, many people focus on thorough cleaning practices. If disinfection is needed, we recommend using a product specifically labeled for that purpose and following its directions carefully.
Are your products septic and sewer safe?
Our products are designed to be compatible with typical household plumbing systems, including sewer and septic systems when used as directed.
Where can I buy Restore Naturals products?

All of our products are also available for purchase online. You can view our current retail locations here. We recommend contacting your local retailer to confirm availability of specific products.

Has your formula changed over time?
Our formulas have remained consistent over time, with ongoing refinements based on ingredient sourcing and production. Because some ingredients are derived from natural sources, you may notice slight variations in color or scent from batch to batch.
Are your products vegan?
While we do not market our products as "vegan," the ingredients used in our formulas are not derived from animal sources.
Do you have a packaging return program?
We welcome customers to return certain packaging components for reuse or recycling at our facility. Many local customers choose to drop off items such as pails directly. We are not currently set up to offer a return shipping program or provide prepaid labels. This allows us to keep product costs as accessible as possible. Customers outside our local area are encouraged to reuse packaging or recycle through local programs when available.
What should I do if a cleaning product is accidentally ingested?
If a cleaning product is accidentally ingested, seek medical attention or contact Poison Control immediately: Poison Help Hotline: 1-800-222-1222. Always follow product label instructions and keep cleaning products out of reach of children.
